Viran Morros replaces the injured Miguel Sánchez-Migallón in the 'Hispanos'

MADRID, 13 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The left winger Miguel Sánchez-Migallón suffers a fracture of the second metacarpal of his left hand, which occurred in the defeat against Croatia, and will have to leave the concentration of the Spanish men's handball team in the European Championship in Germany, and Viran Morros will occupy his place on the team.

The player from Ciudad Real underwent an emergency x-ray on Friday night to find out the exact extent of the injury he suffered in the 'Hispanos' debut against the Croatian team (29-39). The Spanish team's doctor, César Flores, confirmed that he suffers a fracture of the second metacarpal of his left hand, which will force him to undergo surgery and be out for around two months.

By losing such a specific player from the defensive block, coach Jordi Ribera has chosen to call up the veteran Viran Morros, who will arrive at the Mannheim camp early in the afternoon. The 40-year-old from Barcelona plays for Swiss club Pfadi Winterthur.

Morros has 252 internationals and is the fourth player with the highest number of appearances for Spain in all of history, the first among those who remain active. His record with the 'Hispanos' includes one gold and two bronzes in World Cups and two golds, one silver and one bronze in Europeans, in addition to the Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020.
