The Real Madrid striker is exposed to a four-game ban with which he would miss the Super Cup
MADRID, 4 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid forward Vinícius Junior was sent off this Friday against Valencia, in the postponed duel of matchday 12 of LaLiga EA Sports, for hitting the rival goalkeeper on the head, being later restrained amidst his protests as stated in the arbitration report, a conduct that exposes him to a serious sanction.
“In the 79th minute, Vinícius was sent off for the following reason: for hitting an opponent on the head deliberately, without the ball being in dispute, using not insignificant force. Once sent off, said player had to be restrained by members of the his club and retired to the locker room while his protests continued,” wrote referee Soto Grado in his match report at Mestalla.
After what happened, the Brazilian forward, who was already expelled two seasons ago in the ‘che’ fiefdom in a match also marked by the racist insults he received, asked for “forgiveness” on his ‘X’ social network account, and gave also “thanks” to his team, since they were able to come back without him on the field and win 1-2.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will now have to analyze the attack on Stole Dimitrievski and everything that happened in those minutes of tension, with the protests of Vinícius held by teammates and the coaching staff. The scenarios that can be expected are a serious sanction, which would be four games, or a light sanction, which would be two and to be fulfilled in the League.
The next match for Carlo Ancelotti’s team is in three days, on Monday in the Copa del Rey against Deportiva Minera, while on Thursday they will play the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Mallorca. If he receives a serious four-match ban, ‘Vini’ would not be able to play for the title in Jeddah.
