MADRID, 10 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) has confirmed this Sunday his dominance in the Tirreno-Adriatico and has won his first ‘trident’ after the dispute of the seventh and final stage, of 154 kilometers with start and finish in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) and in which the Italian Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) won.

The two-time Tour de France champion defended the 1:24 advantage over the Spanish Juan Ayuso (UAE Emirates) with which he reached the last stage to conclude his fantastic week, after masterfully winning on Friday and Saturday. The Australian Jai Hindley (Bora-Hansgrohe), at 1:52, completed the podium of the ‘Race between the two seas’.

In a stage of little difficulty and without climbs in the last 80 kilometers, Milan sealed his second victory of the week (3:15:51) ahead of the Norwegian Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X Mobility) and the Italian Davide Cimolai (Movistar ).

In this way, Vingegaard closes the Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice double for the Visma-Lease a Bike team, after one of his teammates, the American Matteo Jorgensen, won the ‘Race to the Sun’.

However, Vingegaard will still have to compete against his main rivals, the Slovenians Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic and the Belgian Remco Evenepoel, in a season in which he will aspire to win his third consecutive Tour.
