Villarreal B wins at home against Castellón (3-2)

Villarreal added three points to their locker after winning 3-2 against Castellón on Tuesday at the Ciudad Deportiva Del Villarreal. Villarreal B entered the game with the aim of overcoming their league points after suffering a 2-1 loss in the previous match against Algeciras. Regarding the visiting team, Castellón was defeated 0-1 in the last game they played against Sabadell. After the result obtained, the Villarreal team is second, while Castellón is eighth at the end of the match.

The game started with a face for the Castellón team, who opened the scoring with a goal from César Díaz in the 11th minute. However, Villarreal B managed to tie the game in the 38th minute with a goal from Arana, concluding the first half with a 1-1 in the light.

The second period began in an unbeatable way for the team from Villarreal, who came from behind thanks to a new goal from Arana, thus completing a brace in the 55th minute. But later, Castellón reacted and leveled the match thanks to Yac Diori’s success in front of goal in the 67th minute. The local team took the lead through a goal from Iosifov in the 79th minute, thus ending the confrontation with the result of 3-2.

Villarreal coach Miguel Álvarez ushered Iosifov, Ramón and Forés into the field to replace Diego Collado, Arana and Lozano, while for Castellón, Sergi Escobar replaced Ortuño, Cubillas, Marcos and Koke Sáiz with César Díaz , Mario Barco, Borja Martinez and Aaron.

The referee sanctioned four players with a yellow card, one for the locals and three for the visitors. On the part of the locals the card went to Iosifov and on the part of the visitors to Sibille, Borja Martínez and Salva Ruiz.

With these three points, Villarreal was in second place with 34 points, in playoff place for promotion to the Second Division, while Castellón was in eighth place with 27 points at the end of the match.

On the next day of the First RFEF, both Castellón and Villarreal B will play a new match at home against Linares Deportivo and At. Sanluqueño respectively.
