Viera and Jesé maintain the dream of Las Palmas

MADRID, 30 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

UD Las Palmas beat Málaga (2-1) this Friday on matchday 38 of the LaLiga SmartBank, to place seventh, two points behind the promotion zone, with the weekend remaining.

The canaries do not give up the dream of playing the ‘playoffs’ for promotion to First Division. The pursuit of sixth place that they came to occupy returned to the fray after two draws, with three points harvested in Gran Canaria thanks to Jonathan Viera and Jesé.

The stars of the yellow team shone with goals in the first and second half, to put pressure on Ponferradina and Oviedo, sixth, which has an intractable pace. Despite Jesé’s 2-0 in the 80th minute, Pimienta’s team still had to suffer.

Febas closed the gap in the 84th minute and the local goalkeeper Valles saved his team in stoppage time. The people of Malaga remain with 41 points, marking the salvation with the descent to 7, also in the absence of the end of the day this weekend.
