Very calm victory for the leader Real Madrid over Osasuna

A double from Bellingham guides the comfortable afternoon for the meringues (4-0) in their stadium

MADRID, 7 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid beat CA Osasuna 4-0 this Saturday, in a match corresponding to matchday 9 of LaLiga EA Sports and where the English playmaker Jude Bellingham, scoring a double, once again led to a good result for the merengue team, who remains the leader of the championship.

On the pitch of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the home team had to deal with an opponent who had a certain desire for revenge. Their confrontation in the final of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey was still present in the memories of both fans, where the white giant beat the rojillo contender on the back of Karim Benzema.

But five months after that final at the La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, Benzema’s threat was not a problem for Osasuna. Of course, one of his replacements in the Madrid squad is putting up killer numbers that very few expected. So Bellingham was once again the beacon for Carlo Ancelotti’s pupils to follow.

Everything was easier as soon as Real Madrid opened the scoring with their first shot on goal, the work of the young English prodigy with a shot inside the rival area, following a pass from Dani Carvajal and after a triangulation with Luka Modric. Exhibiting simplicity, the Madrid team had dealt an important blow in just nine minutes of the match.

And with that favorable wind, in its objective of recovering the LaLiga leadership that Girona FC had provisionally taken from it by winning at home to Cádiz CF (0-1), Real Madrid temporized with skill. Ancelotti’s men took possession of the ball, although they hardly worried the Osasunista goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera.

Meanwhile, Osasuna was missing more ideas in the midfield and more fangs up front, although they gave a scare with a clear scoring opportunity just on the brink of half-time. A mistake by the local team when starting from behind ended with a death pass from Rubén Peña to his teammate Ante Budimir.

But the Croatian striker, unmarked at the penalty spot, sent his shot over the crossbar. And Jagoba Arrasate’s pupils paid dearly for it upon returning from the locker room, as Real Madrid did not mess around. Bellingham shone again, starting a lethal wall with Fede Valverde from the top of the red area.

The Uruguayan midfielder subtly returned the ball to the former Borussia Dortmund player, who slipped between the lines to score low to make it 2-0 in the 54th minute. Shortly after, Eduardo Camavinga caused a robbery in his own field and Valverde, quick, saw a gap in the distance to assist Vinícius Jr. in the race.

VINI RESOLVES AND JOSELU MISSES A PENALTY

The merengue ‘7’ sprinted, stood alone in front of Herrera, broke towards his left side and pushed the 3-0 into the net (65′) with the outside of his boot to prevent the ball from going out of bounds. With the Pamplona team knocked out, Real Madrid scored with the fourth goal in the 70th minute.

It was the work of Joselu Mato, following a very long pass from Aurélien Tchouameni and which was controlled by Vinícius in the front, where he broke away from David García to give a ‘death’ pass to the local striker; Joselu, running on the right side of the attack, took advantage by getting into the area and shooting a right foot into the back of the net.

There was still time for a fifth goal, thanks to a penalty for a clear handball awarded to David García in a shot by Toni Kroos from the crown of the Osasunista area. However, Joselu himself missed his shot, as Herrera guessed his intentions and repelled that centered shot.

The merengue team already has 24 points at the top of the First Division, maintaining two points ahead of a Girona that does not relax its goal of surprising the giants of the tournament. Meanwhile, Osasuna remains in the middle of the table, with 10 points and a bitter knowledge of wasting an opportunity for vendetta.
