Verstappen: “A lot has happened that I don’t agree with”

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull) has assured that he “does not” agree “with the decision of the stewards to impose a five-second penalty for one of his incidents with the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), and has affirmed that he tried to let him pass and it was he who did not want to.

“My opinion is different from that of the stewards,” he declared after the race. “Many things have happened that I do not agree with. I have tried on the track and I have given everything. I did not know if the tires were going to reach the end, and in the end I finished second,” he continued.

On the moment in which he had to pass himself off as current world champion, after skipping turn 1, the Dutchman recounted his vision of the events. “I slowed down the pace, I wanted to let him pass, but he didn’t want to overtake me and we touched. I don’t understand what happened there,” he stressed, before speaking of the final Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. “It will be decided there and we hope to have a good weekend,” he concluded.
