Van Aert shines on another Jumbo ‘podium’ in the time trial and is the new leader of the Paris-Nice

BARCELONA, 9 MAR. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Belgian cyclist Wout Van Aert has won this Wednesday the fourth stage of the Paris-Nice, an individual time trial of 13.4 kilometers between Domérat and Montluçon, beating his teammates Primoz Roglic and Rohan Dennis in another ‘podium’ and exhibition of the Jumbo -Visma, with Van Aert picking up the lead from fellow teammate Christophe Laporte.

There is no one to stop the Jumbo-Visma at the moment in this Paris-Nice. After taking the first three places in the first stage, with victory for Laporte ahead of Roglic and Van Aert, this time they repeated the triplet, against the clock, with Van Aert achieving stage and provisional leadership.

The Belgian stopped the clock in 16:20 minutes, being 2 seconds better than Primoz Roglic and 6 better than Rohan Dennis. Fourth, and first not Jumbo, was the Swiss Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) with the British Simon Yates (BikeExchange-Jayco) fifth, 10 and 11 seconds away respectively.

With this victory in the time trial, Van Aert picks up the gold jersey of provisional leader from Laporte, now third, 28 seconds behind his teammate, who has a 10-second margin over his ‘leader’ Primoz Roglic, who should take a step Go ahead when you reach your ground.

And it is that the fifth stage of this ‘Carrera del Sol’ reaches the mid-mountain. At the moment, five scoring ports including the Croix de Chambouret (9.6 kilometers at 6.6 percent) to whet your appetite. Of course, a flat finish in a stage suitable for looking for breakaways.
