The Valencia has put its legal machinery to work to try that José Bordalás can count on Mouctar Diakhaby for the match against Celta de Vigo. The Mestalla club has presented an appeal to free him from the yellow card he saw against Rayo Vallecano, which is the fifth of the cycle and which by accumulation will prevent him from being in that next match.
What could be an acceptable problem, such as the lack of a central, becomes a serious problem for Bordalás for two reasons. The first, that by reconverting Hugo Guillamón in the preseason to the position of defensive midfielder and with no reinforcement in that position, he only has three centrals. The second is that, after Gabriel Paulista relapsed from the muscle injury that has made him low in recent weeks, it is very difficult for him to reach the meeting.
Valencia alleges in the video that it has presented to the Competition Committee that Hernández Hernández erred by pointing out a reckless foul by Diakhaby on Sergi Guardiola shortly before the break and that the Frenchman could not even touch the Rayista player from behind, as the referee understood what had happened.
If his resource prospers, Bordalás will be able to repeat a pair of centrals but if he does not do so and Paulista is still out, he will have to choose between undoing Guillamón’s reconversion and using Uros Racic in the center, ‘inventing’ a center-back in his squad, or making use of from some youth squad.
