Valencia reacts in Elche in their fight for salvation

MADRID, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Valencia won (0-2) this Sunday in their visit to Elche on matchday 30 of LaLiga Santander, three vital points in their fight for permanence, increasingly impossible for the bottom team from Elche.

Rubén Baraja’s men did not fail at the Martínez Valero with goals from Samuel Lino and Verdú, an own goal, both in the first half. Thus, the ‘che’ team reacted to four games without winning to add 30 points, the same as an Almería that marks salvation, for Elche’s 13.

With eight days to go in the championship, the fight to stay in the First Division is burning, not for an Elche that is too sunk, not only in the table. The Elche team, with four coaches this campaign, the centenary, does not change the chip.

The arrival of Sebastián Beccacece seemed like yes but no. Elche is still denied and, against a Valencia with better energy, conceded the 0-1 at 20 minutes on a kick from the visiting goalkeeper. Mamardashvili’s kick was combed by Cavani and finished off by Lino.

The Brazilian, a sensation at the start of the league, took a step forward at an already key moment, a continuing problem for the locals and also participated in the 0-2 draw that was made at Verdú itself. The last straw for an Elche defeated inside and out, with the only encouragement from the rival fans singing “Elche is First Class”.

Baraja’s men were supported at the Martínez Valero by a wide ‘che’ representation that was rewarded with the great image of his team. Elche had the ball after the restart, but it hardly disturbed Mamardashvili, while Valencia took charge of sleeping the match in its final stretch.
