Uribes: “I'm going to reach out, I only know how to work looking for consensus”

The new president of the CSD offers to work together with athletes, federations, leagues and the COE and CPE in his inauguration

MADRID, 21 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, stated that he will “reach out” to athletes, federations, leagues and other organizations such as the Olympic Committee (COE) and the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) and who only knows how to work “seeking consensus”, in his inauguration held at the headquarters of said organization in Madrid.

“Spanish sport is one of our crown jewels. I come with the firm intention of giving stability to this house and collaborating with all the actors. No one is essential, but we all work to achieve the goal. Some plant the seed, but others They reap the fruit. I am going to reach out to the athletes, the federations, the leagues, the Spanish Olympic and Paralympic Committee. I only know how to work seeking consensus,” he said.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Pilar Alegría, and, among others, the presidents of the COE and CPE, Alejandro Blanco and Miguel Carballeda, the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, and the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, on the day that the CJEU ruled on the so-called 'Super League case' that confronts them due to the different vision of the European football model. Rodríguez Uribes's predecessor, Víctor Francos, did not attend, but Jaime Lissavetzky, Miguel Cardenal and José Manuel Franco did.
