BERLIN, March 5 (dpa/EP) –
Union Berlin defender Robin Knoche is not disappointed by his club’s failure to sign former Real Madrid and Sevilla player Isco Alarcón to the squad.
The fact that the deal did not come to fruition at the end of the transfer market “maybe not so bad” because of the club’s own structure, Knoche said on the ZDF television program ‘Sportstudio’.
“Of course, I don’t know how he would have fitted into our team. We don’t have big stars in the team and he would have attracted a lot of attention. The conclusion is that as it is now, things fit quite well,” he said of the Spanish midfielder.
Isco, a former Real Madrid player who is now without a team, traveled to Berlin at the end of January to sign a contract with Unión, third-ranked in the Bundesliga. However, the deal was not completed due to last-minute disagreements over the content of the contract.
