Uni Girona announced this Thursday, during the presentation ceremony of the Catalan Women’s Basketball League, the withdrawal of the jersey of Laia Palau, the Girona women’s basketball club’s emblem and current sports director, which will take place this Sunday.
Palau retired in May of this year from the tracks after a sporting career full of successes, with 33 titles and 12 medals. Once her last season as part of Uni Girona was over, she was appointed sports director of the club last July.
The former player has become a pillar of the best generation in the history of women’s basketball, with 14 Leagues, 2 Euroleagues, 11 Cups, and 6 Super Cups at club level. She and she wearing the colors of the Spanish team: 3 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.
