UEFA receives invalid requests for tickets for the Euro Cup in Germany

FRANKFURT (GERMANY), Oct. 21 (dpa/EP) –

UEFA reported that demand for tickets for Euro 2024 in Germany is “enormous”, but that it also received millions of invalid requests during the first sales phase.

“We have the problem that today there are computer robots that work for illegal markets. Millions of requests arrive and we are trying to eliminate them,” declared UEFA competition director Martin Kallen during a round of talks at the Book Fair , which takes place in Frankfurt.

The first phase of ticket sales began on October 3 and fans will be able to request tickets for certain matches until October 26, and their allocation will be done by lottery.

The opening match in Munich on June 14 is currently the most popular, according to Kallen. More than 1.2 million tickets will be available during the first sales period, and prices start at 30 euros in the cheapest category for group stage matches. The best category for the final in Berlin will cost 1,000 euros.

Hosts Germany, as well as Austria, Belgium, England, France, Portugal, Scotland, Spain and Turkey, have already qualified for the tournament. The draw for the group stage will take place on December 2 in Hamburg.
