UD Las Palmas reacted in the first half to an early goal by CD Lugo, which ended up winning 6-1 in the first scorer of Jesé Rodríguez on his return to Spanish football, who started the comeback with a penalty and also gave an assist.
The Galician team, despite facing the crash plagued by casualties, surprised very soon with a free kick that Hugo Rama took and Juanpe headed to the net without any opposition from the island defense.
Lugo's joy was short-lived because Xavi Torres knocked down Jesé inside the area, a clear penalty that the referee did not grant in principle until the VAR called him to order to review the play on the monitor. The Gran Canaria striker adjusted his shot with the right, which Cantero sensed but was unable to deflect.
With the match even and Las Palmas without finding their usual football, Lugo began to arrive with some danger, entrusted to the speed of Appiah, but when Luis César's men were better, a quick local transition ended with Rober's goal, at to catch a rebound from Cantero in a first shot by Maikel Mesa, after Benito's low center from the left.
This second goal did a lot of damage to Lugo, who left the game and in the added time before half-time dug his grave. First Diego Alende saved under the sticks a shot from Rober to Jesé's pass, and shortly after came the third goal, from Argentine Sergio Araujo, after a filtered pass from Sergio Ruiz between a forest of legs.
In the second half the gap was even greater, with clear chances for Las Palmas; Sergio Ruiz finished off the crossbar and then Jesé gave the goal to Rober.
There were four more goals, two not conceded, to Sergio Ruiz himself and to the visitor Gerard Valentín for hands prior to his shots, and the last two of the clash to round off the local win, with Rober and Aridai as protagonists, when he was already disconnected from the game a Lugo who chained ten days without winning and sees how his mattress on the descent deflates.
