MADRID, 28 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Unión Deportiva Las Palmas continues to aspire to play in the promotion playoff to LaLiga Santander after beating CD Leganés 4-2 this Monday at the Gran Canaria Stadium, in the match that closed the thirty-third matchday of LaLiga SmartBank 2021-2022 .
The island team made good on their triumph last weekend at home against Valladolid and added three key points that left them four behind sixth-placed Ponferradina, while the Madrid player chained their third game without winning and practically said goodbye to any aspiration to fight for the ‘playoff’, already distant in itself.
The ‘Lega’, however, was the first to get ahead on the scoreboard through a goal from Qasmi in the 20th minute, but the locals came from behind in three minutes, from 23 to 26, through Sadiku and Kirian.
Before the break, Francisco Javier García Pimienta’s men made it 3-1 through a penalty scored by Jonathan Viera and although an own goal in the second half by Álvaro Lemos put the ‘pepineros’ in the game, Sadiku sentenced shortly after.
