Spectators will once again see an open Champions League match. Seven years later, TVE will broadcast the grand final of the Champions League. RTVE’s commitment to sports and football at the highest level continues. The final of the Football Champions League, the most important club competition in Europe, returns to La 1 next Saturday, May 28. The match will be played at the Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg (Russia) at 9:00 p.m..
The public entity will offer a special program throughout the previous week to bring viewers closer to all the details of the final. For the retransmission, RTVE will have two major signings, which together add up to four Champions Leagues in their showcases: Fernando Hierroformer Real Madrid defender, with whom he won the trophy three times (1998, 2000 and 2002); and Albert Ferrerfrom FC Barcelona, the club with which he won the title in 1992.
In addition, the Spanish National Team will return to RTVE in March with the broadcast of the two friendly matches, first against Albania (March 26) and then against Iceland (March 29). Both clashes will feature narration by Juan Carlos Rivero and comments by Albert Ferrer and Fernando Hierro.
