Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea coach, stated that they are “prepared for the great fight” that will mean meeting Real Madrid this Wednesday at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League semi-final second leg (1-1 in the first leg, played at the stadium Alfredo Di Stéfano).
“We are at the moment where we would like to be in for a game as crucial as this one,” Tuchel said in remarks following Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Fulham in the Premier League.
“We do not have to be worried or regret anything. It will be exciting. We are prepared for a great fight and I am sure we will need a great performance because Madrid is going to give us a hard time.”
“I am very happy to reach the semi-finals with this group,” added the German Chelsea manager.
Tuchel will be able to count on all his players, with the exception of Mateo Kovacic, who has suffered a delay in his recovery, to make good the 1-1 achieved at Alfredo Di Stéfano.
