LONDON, Aug 15 (PA Media/dpa/EP) –
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou revealed on Thursday that Ivorian midfielder Yves Bissouma will miss the team’s opening Premier League game on Monday against Leicester City after posting a video last weekend in which he inhaled the infamous ‘laughing gas’.
Bissouma has apologised after a video emerged on Sunday night of him inhaling a balloon believed to contain nitrous oxide, known as ‘laughing gas’. Spurs have launched an internal investigation and the midfielder has been given a one-match ban as a result of his misconduct.
“We have suspended him for Monday’s game. The door is open for him and hopefully we can help him realise that the decisions he makes have repercussions beyond him. Hopefully it will allow him to make better decisions for the future,” Postecoglu told reporters at a press conference.
