MADRID, 24 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The IndoorWall climbing wall in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) hosts this Saturday the first test of the Copa Madrileña de Bloque circuit for the absolute and youth categories, organized by the Madrid Mountaineering Federation and which will have a record participation of 120 climbers.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., the climbers will face the demanding bouldering test with a single qualifying phase by groups, in which they will be scored for the general classification of the Madrid Cup, in which the participants will only have the essential time to solve the proposed problems.

Competitors from six autonomous communities in the absolute, sub-18, sub-16 and sub-14 categories will be in action. The approach of the test will be 16 blocks for each category, carrying out the elimination in turns of eight blocks, for half the time assigned to each category.

The public will be able to attend without capacity restrictions to encourage the promises of the specialty, one of the fastest growing in recent years, driven by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic participation -in which Alberto Ginés won the gold medal- and the individualization of the speed tests and the block and difficulty joint in the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

The Madrid Block Cup 2023 will continue on March 11 at the IndoorWall climbing wall in Getafe and will close on May 6 at The Climb Leganés, coinciding with the Autonomous Championship of this climbing modality.
