Toni Bou opens the TrialGP season with a podium and a victory

MADRID, 12 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) started the TrialGP season this weekend with a podium finish and a victory at the Spanish event held in l’Hospitalet de l’Infant.

The 2022 season of the Outdoor Trial World Championship opened with a hot double date in which Bou, after staying on the verge of victory on Saturday, climbed to the top at the end of this Sunday’s TrialGP of Spain.

The current champion dominated this second round from start to finish, to lead with 37 points, tied with Jaime Busto (Vertigo). The next meeting will be another double date in Sant Julià de Lòria (Andorra) on June 18 and 19.

“I am very happy because today I have felt much better than yesterday, I felt more comfortable, but Jaime today has had an incredible race again. We have both been very good, we have made few mistakes and I have been able to make a difference in the area 4. If it hadn’t been for the fiasco I received in zone 2 on the second lap, I think it was a very complete race”, said Bou.

“We were stronger than yesterday and we were able to withstand the pressure. If I wanted to win, it was key to do well in zone 4 and, despite the pressure, I was able to do it. Jaime has made things very difficult for us, he will be a great rival and Adam, despite the fact that it has not been his weekend, I am convinced that he will return,” he added in statements provided by his team.
