The material brand specialized in adventure and outdoor sports The North Face presents its Ski Tour collection, designed for both women and men and is made with the aim of pushing the limits in mountain skiing.
New this season is the Balmenhorn Futurelight ultralight jacket, in a complete ski touring collection for winter adventures. With maximum protection and minimum weight, this collection is key to explore further, reach higher and experience to the fullest.
The layer system, designed specifically for ski touring, offers interlocking technologies to go further for longer, keeping you warm, dry and free to move.
New this year is the Balmenhorn Futurelight. This ultralight, seam-sealed layer is designed to balance waterproof protection with breathability while ski touring.
The innovative Dawn Turn breathable insulation layer combines a series of ultra-comfortable synthetic insulating fiber membranes with a highly air-permeable front fabric.
50/50 insulation, or synthetic insulation-filled baffles, are also interspersed for added breathability and temperature regulation that keeps the body warm and dry.
Finally, the Dawn Turn Hybrid Ventrix midlayer is carefully designed with perforations that open depending on movement, allowing sweat to escape, and remain closed during rest to retain heat.
The collection comes to life through the lens of Chamonix-based photographer Mathis Dumas. Dumas captured the Ski Tour collection in the unique surroundings of Etna (3,357 metres) in Sicily, a place not often on skiers' maps.
However, there is no shortage of snow in this place, above 2000 meters and whose mountain is snowy from November to April, despite the eruptions, where the black igneous rock forms a land of contrasts in which a battle is fought elemental of wind, fire and eruptions.
Designed to push the limits, the Ski Tour collection includes the Balmenhorn Futurelight shell, Dawn Turn 50/50 Synthetic insulated jacket, Dawn Turn Hybrid Ventrix midlayer, Dawn Turn Hybrid pant and ski touring-specific accessories.
