Three positives for coronavirus in Atalanta

Atalanta announced on Monday that three of its players have tested positive for coronavirus but they remain asymptomatic. All three are already in isolation.

The Bergamo club squad has undergone these tests for the start of training with a view to next season. Serie A 2020-21 in principle should start on September 19.

Atalanta did not reveal which players have tested positive and stated that the rest of the squad will start the preparatory sessions as planned.

The team led by Gian Piero Gasperini finished the last edition of the Italian championship in third position and reached the Final Eight of the Champions, in which they fell in the quarterfinals against PSG in Lisbon (2-1).

Bergamo was the Italian city that became the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak last February.
