The most family-friendly night of the year is approaching and she is more alone than ever. Isabel Pantoja He will experience his first Christmas away from Cantora and is not in the mood for parties. She sold the Paquirri farm beset by debts and a poor financial situation, not by a desire to turn the page or socialize in the big city. She lives it resigned, but she lives it badly. They will be some sad days for the tonadillera, who also does not have her children or grandchildren to sing carols, open gifts or delight in her famous Pantoja chicken. This year, their plans are very different: change of scenery and change of company.
Next Tuesday will be Christmas Eve and the performer will be in her new house in La Finca, in Madrid, where she has settled with her brother Agustín. According to Leticia Requejo, Isabel does not want big celebrations so they have only invited a few friends, all from the inner circle, who are part of the singer’s work team: “There will be about six or seven, at most.” The singer, very fond of cooking, will not put on the apron on this occasion: “They’re going to hire a caterer, she doesn’t want to do anything.” States that he is “sad” but he clarifies that it has nothing to do with his children: “They tell me that nothing affects him, that he has accepted it, he is sad because he misses Cantora.”
Isabel is going through a very difficult time. Away from Kiko and Isa Pi (and therefore from her grandchildren), she still mourns the loss of her mother, Doña Ana, and her brother Bernardo. She has also distanced herself from her niece Anabel, in the Canary Islands since she became the mother of her first daughter, Alma, and has moved to Madrid after selling Cantora, the house of a lifetime, to put her accounts in order and pay her debt with Tax authorities.
In the midst of so much grief, Pantoja had focused his energies on his 50th anniversary tour, but medical problems have forced him to cancel some concerts. The next one will be on Thursday, December 26 at the Starlite Festival in Madrid: “We have already started rehearsals. There will be many flamenco carols, a zambomba from Jerez that cannot be resisted, a wonderful orchestra, some friends who are with me and I won’t be leaving to reveal who they are because I want it to be a surprise and for us to have a great time,” he said this Thursday in a video uploaded to social networks. “May we be healthy so we can be together. I’ll wait for you in Madrid.” His daughter Isa Pi, three months pregnant, is clear: “She smiles to sell tickets, but she’s not okay. She can’t be.”
