A death has shocked Hollywood this Saturday, January 4, and especially his wife, actress Aubrey Plaza, one of the stars of the second season of The White Lotusone of the most acclaimed and watched series in recent years for which Plaza was nominated for an Emmy. Jeff Baena, screenwriter and independent film director, has been found dead at his home in Los Angeles. He died at 47 years old.
The filmmaker was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m. [hora local] this Friday, January 3, at his home, located in the 2100 block of Fern Dell Place in Los Angeles.
The emergency services, police and fire, received a call at 10:30 in the morning. It was an assistant to the couple who called after meeting Baena. They couldn’t do anything for his life because he was already dead. The police are investigating the incident as a suicide. However, the investigation continues.
Jeff Baena was born on June 29, 1977 in Miami (Florida). He graduated in screenwriting from New York University. He co-wrote the David O. Russell film strange coincidencesreleased in 2004. He wrote and directed five films, mostly dark comedies.
Aubrey Plaza starred in his directorial debut, the zombie comedy Life After Beth (2014). The American performer also participated in other of her films, The Little Hours (2017) y Spin Me Round (2022). They also worked together on the series Toast Cinemawhich aired on Showtime in 2021.
They began dating in 2011 and in 2021 they got married in the patio of their house, as the actress revealed on her Instagram account.
