The last and long-awaited state trip of the kings begins, destination Italy. Don Felipe and Doña Letizia They left this Tuesday morning from Barajas airport and landed in Fiumicino, Rome, three hours later. Enough time to change her look, because the queen has gone from black to white during the flight. A complete success: her image when she came down the stairs of the plane, arm in arm with Don Felipe, was modernity and elegance as only she knows how to combine them.
The royal consort has chosen a ‘total white’ look of which, a priori, we only saw fluid straight-cut pants, a double-breasted cloth coat with a bow belt and an XXL pashmina to protect herself from the cold. The accessories added a festive, almost Christmassy touch: light gold shoes and clutch from Magrit.
The kings were received with honors at the foot of the track by a representation of the Italian government and quickly moved to the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome, their first stop on the official agenda. After posing with Hispanists in front of San Pietro in Montorio and contemplating an exhibition for its 50th anniversary, the Kings attended the traditional reception for the Spanish community at the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Italy, Miguel Fernández-Palacios Martínez.
Here, the monarchs shared a cocktail with some 300 guests and Don Felipe gave his first speech of the trip. Doña Letizia has also got rid of her coat and has shown us a beautiful satin tailored jacket paired with a lingerie top and long earrings from the company Sure, one of the Valencian companies with which the queen collaborates from DANA to contribute to its recovery and visibility. On this occasion he has worn the Nanuk Long Gold model, which represents five suns, plated with 3 microns of 18-karat gold and a price of 69.90 euros.
A packed agenda
Thus begins a state trip that will last three days in which Felipe and Letizia will have separate agendas. Also joint acts, of course. This Wednesday they will be received by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and by his daughter, Laura Mattarella, who serves as first lady after the death of her mother. The meeting will take place at the Quirinal Palace.
They will then move to the Casino del Bel Respiro to enjoy lunch with the president of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and will close the day again at the Quirinal Palace at the traditional gala dinner.
