This 30-year-old has visited every country in the world: this is how he paid for his adventure

Drew Binsky, the young man who with only 30 years has already visited all the countries of the world. For this traveler, 1,458 flights and 1,117 buses and trains were necessary to know the 197 territories in which it has been. However, the question that everyone is asking is “how could such a young person afford such an adventure?”

The first thought that comes to mind is the high probability that you are a person wealthy by birth, who can afford to spend your life without working and traveling. Nothing is further from the truth, Binsky is the perfect definition of a young entrepreneur.

This American adventurer traveled for the first time when he studied in Prague, during his third year of university. Subsequently, earned his first salary teaching English in South Korea for two years. It was there that he launched the travel blog that would make him famous and where he had the idea of visiting all countries.

How can such a young person finance his trip around the world?

Nine hours after landing in his 197 country, Saudi Arabia, Binsky spoke with CNBC about his ten-year journey. “It may be shocking to hear this, but my plan is to have no plan. I really like being spontaneous. The best moments in life happen when you step out of your comfort zone and you don’t know what is going to happen next, “he said.

Binsky relies on the hospitality of his followers on social media, where has more than eight million fans, to find a roof to sleep under during your stay in a country. The times she couldn’t count on this help, she survived by staying in shelters and using low-cost airlines.

However, he soon began uploading videos to YouTube, which at first brought no income. However, a video about a burger joint in Bangkok earned him seven million views, which reported about $ 10,000.

From here, Binsky’s popularity increased and today, receive between 20,000 and 40,000 euros per month thanks to YouTube. Something that might seem like a lot. However, Binsky, little by little, grew the family that supported him in his endeavor, until he created a staff of 23 people, which greatly reduced profits.

However, social media memberships are not your only source of income. This entrepreneur charges the brands he works with between $ 15,000 and $ 30,000 per video, sells its own merchandising and offers e-learning courses through its website. In addition, Binsky carries behind his back with the publication of his own book and a six-chapter docuseries.

Despite this, this content creator is aware of what has led him to fame, so changing his way of life is not an option. “I’m not going to spend money on first-class tickets, I still eat street food and I still sleep in modest hotels. Even if I made 10 times what I make now I would still do it,” Binsky told CNBC.

Throughout his trip, Binsky has contracted Covid-19, has fallen ill countless times, has had severe problems due to contaminated food, has been forced to walk for hours on inhospitable roads and has been in great difficulty in politically stressed countries. However, all this is what has allowed millions of people to want to follow his story.
