The wife of multimillionaire businessman Juan Antonio Pérez Simón, Josefina Carrera, has passed away in Mexico. They had an only daughter and two grandchildren. Josefina’s health had recently deteriorated and it was last Tuesday when she was sadly unable to continue fighting for her life.
Although the couple was separated, but not divorced, in the last decade, the relationship between Pérez Simón and his wife was always one of absolute cordiality, as confirmed by those close to him. The fact that the businessman had his ex Silvia Gómez de Cuétara as a partner for more than 10 years did not prevent the couple from staying together at those times and occasions that they considered appropriate.
Josefina was really the driving force behind the art collection that Pérez Simón now owns, and which is considered one of the best private collections in the world. She was a true lover of painting and the one who understood it best, a woman with an exquisite education, who knew how to deal discreetly and intelligently with the separation of her marriage after more than 40 years of marriage, but it did not affect either the companies or the investments that the couple always had by mutual agreement.
Their only daughter, María José Pérez Simón, made them grandparents to their grandchildren Jorge and María José, undoubtedly the great joy of a family that today mourns their loss. The businessman of Asturian origin who takes advantage of the summers to spend a long stay at his house in Asturias is in Mexico to say goodbye to his wife and surround himself with all his loved ones in these sad times.
It must be remembered that Josefina was the daughter of the founders of the Kaype hotel in Llanes and hence the enormous link they maintained with the Principality of Asturias.
