Tottenham winger Son Heung-min was named South Korea’s best player for the sixth time (record) in the men’s category, while in the women’s category it was Chelsea midfielder Ji So-yun. This was announced this Wednesday by the South Korean Football Federation.

Son, 29, has scored 22 goals for Tottenham in all competitions in the current 2020-21 season and 4 for the South Korean team in 2021. It is his sixth award for the best player of the year in his country after those of 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Ji also won the award for the sixth time, having also won it in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2019. The ‘blue’ midfielder won the Super League last season, the League Cup and the FA Cup (the treble with Chelsea, with whom he was runner-up in Europe after losing the final against Barcelona)
