The World Half Marathon in Yangzhou is postponed from March to November 2022

MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Yangzhou World Half Marathon (China), scheduled for March 27, has been postponed until November 13, 2022, as agreed by the international athletics federation, World Athletics, and the local organizing committee.

The postponement is due to biosecurity measures and travel restrictions currently in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in China.

These conditions may change until March, but to provide certainty to athletes, coaches and national federations, the World Athletics Council agreed to reschedule the championships to allow more time for existing quarantine and travel restrictions to be eased.

World Athletics and the Yangzhou Organizing Committee declared themselves “committed” to the responsible planning and delivery of the half marathon championships, including ensuring that athletes from all national federations can participate and “enjoy an experience that corresponds to a World Series of Athletics event. “
