The Qatar 2022 World Cup will be seen on TVE. The RTVE corporation would have prevailed, according to verTele, with a bid close to 35 million euros, in an agreement that will be initialed very soon with the signing of the contract. The other two large Spanish audiovisual groups, Atresmedia and Mediaset (which broadcast the last three World Cups: South Africa 2010 together with Canal+, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018), have not come close to those amounts, the closest to 50 million euros that Mediapro expected to get for the sale.
In this way, TVE and the National Team will continue hand in hand, since the public entity has been broadcasting the matches of La Roja, directed by Luis Enrique, in the qualifying phase for the Qatar World Cup, those of the Nations League and the different friendlies.
