The women’s wheelchair basketball team announces its squad for the World Cup

MADRID, 3 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The new Spanish women’s wheelchair basketball coach, Frank Belen, has announced this Wednesday the list of twelve players who will represent Spain in the World Cup to be held in Dubai between June 9 and 19, with the news from Paola Sindy Ramos, Uxía Chamorro and Laura Ugarte.

“We have a group with many young players who will discover the highest international level. Fortunately they will be accompanied by experienced players who will help them during the competition. Our goal is to proudly represent Spain in this world competition,” Belen stressed in statements provided by the FEDDF.

Spain, current continental bronze, is included in Group B of the championship with Brazil, Canada, Australia, Great Britain and China. A very complicated group and in which there are several candidates for the title, such as the Chinese team, current Paralympic runner-up, but the coach trusts his team, since they have “the enthusiasm and strength of character” of the group to overcome adversity .

The Spanish team maintains the 2021 European player base, with nine members of that squad that won the bronze, and has the news of Paola Sindy Ramos, from IMF Smart Education Getafe, Uxía Chamorro, from Iberconsa Amfiv, and Laura Ugarte , from Zuzenak.
