The women's team beats France 8-1 in the European roller hockey

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Tuesday, the Spanish women's roller hockey team added its second victory in the European Championship that is being held in the Girona town of Olot after beating France 8-1 thanks above all to a great and successful second half and with prominence for Sara Roces, scorer of five goals.

After beginning the defense of the title and the search for the seventh consecutive continental crown with a good performance against its theoretically toughest rival, Portugal, which it beat on Monday 5-1, the team led by Ricard Muñoz did not have too many problems to get rid of his next opponent, although he lasted the entire first half.

From the beginning of the match, Spain dominated and enjoyed the best chances despite the resistance of the French players, led by their goalkeeper Lili Bochoux. In this way, the 1-0 took a while to arrive and did not do so until the final stretch of the first half through Sara Roces who began to carve out her big night.

The script seemed to change after the break when Aina Florenza quickly extended the lead, but France hit back with a goal from Celia Gohet in a direct free kick after a blue ball to Mariona Colomer that surprised Anna Salvat. This ended up waking up the Spanish team who finally broke through with new goals from Florenza and Roces, who would score three more in a rout that Victòria Porta closed.

The Spanish team will play this Wednesday (8:30 p.m.) its last duel of the group stage against an Italy that tied against Portugal and against whom first place and therefore a direct pass to the semifinals will be played.
