The dismissal of Unai López by Marcelino was one of the red-and-white surprises of last preseason. The Asturian coach had opted for four specific means since his arrival in Bilbao to replace Gaizka Garitano. Dani García, Vencedor, Vesga and the player from San Sebastian shared the minutes in the so-called double pivot.
None of them exceeded 2,000 minutes of competition in the League. Dani García, who played 27 games and started 21 of them, played 1992, Vesga (30-20) 1,723, Vencedor (28-19) 1,701 and Unai López (26-15) 1,419.
The departure of the latter to Rayo Vallecano made his three teammates accumulate more minutes with Zarraga and even Petxa as sporadic alternatives in the wide zone of the average. The winner, in this way, finished the League with 2,315 minutes spread over 34 games (29-5), Dani García reached 2,189 (27/5) in 32 games, Vesga reached 1,380 (17/15) also in 32 games and Zarraga stayed at 1,154 (8/23) in 31 commitments, but not all playing in the center.
Unai López, for his part, played 1,344 minutes with Rayo distributed over 27 games (13-14).
