The United States, Canada and Mexico will qualify directly for ‘their’ World Cup

The FIFA Executive Committee confirmed on Tuesday that the United States, Mexico and Canada, co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, will qualify directly for the event, while Saudi Arabia will host the next Club World Cup.

In this way, CONCACAF will distribute another three tickets for the next World Cup, which will have 48 teams after the expansion carried out and which will give 16 places to Europe, nine to Africa, eight to Asia, six to South America, one to Oceania, and two more through intercontinental playoffs.

On the other hand, the Executive Committee unanimously chose Saudi Arabia as the host country of the Club World Cup that will be held from December 12 to 22 of this year with still seven participants.
