MADRID, 13 Apr. (SportsFinding) –
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) has accepted the appeal of Atlético de Madrid requesting the precautionary suspension of the partial closure of the Wanda Metropolitano, after the UEFA sanction, for which at least 5,000 seats should remain empty tonight in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Manchester City, the club confirmed on social media.
“The TAS responds to our request and provisionally suspends the partial closure of the Wanda Metropolitano; all members and fans with a subscription or location for tonight’s game will be able to access the stadium,” reported Atlético de Madrid, which was punished with the sanction for “discriminatory attitude” of its fans at the Etihad Stadium.
Therefore, the second leg between Atlético and Manchester City will be played with the maximum capacity allowed in the Metropolitano, after meeting the request of the rojiblancos against the sanction ordered by the highest body in European football.
