The Spanish women’s lacrosse team will play the World Cup in the United States this summer

MADRID, 22 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s lacrosse team will participate between June 30 and July 9 in the World Cup of this discipline, which will be held in Towson, in the state of Maryland, in the United States, an appointment for which the coach Lisa Beltramello has already offered the summoned list.

Spain qualified for the tournament in 2019, during the European Championships in Israel, but the pandemic has forced preparation to be delayed. The team resumed its training in May 2021 and on June 25 will be concentrated in Towson, the World Cup venue. There Spain will play two friendlies, against Argentina and Puerto Rico.

The World Cup, in which 30 countries participate, begins on June 30 and Spain will play its place in the second round in the first four days, in which it will play against Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand and Austria. Spain already knows what it is to face both the Irish and the Austrians, against whom they played in Vernona, Italy, the ELF Easter tournament last April.

The matches of the national team can be followed from Spain through ESPN-Player. Lisa Beltramello has called up twenty players, plus another two as substitutes in case of injury.
