MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish track cycling team faces the 2022 Track Cycling World Championship between this Wednesday and Sunday, which will be held at the Parisian velodrome of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, where Félix García Casas’ team will try to take back the medals , after leaving the 2021 appointment empty.

The national team will have at its disposal Helena Casas, Alejandro Martinez, Pepe Moreno and Ekain Jimenez for the speed trials. Isabella Escalera and Laura Rodriguez for the backgrounds.

To prepare for the competition, the national team concentrated at the end of September in Valencia, and later, they repeated with other days in Mallorca, from where the final composition of the Félix García Casas list came out.

Spain, which is fifteenth in the total medal table, with 55 medals throughout history, arrives at the event after having left Roubaix 2021 empty. The last three metals of the national team were achieved by Sebastián Mora, who won a silver and a bronze in Berlin 2020 and with another second place in Pruszkow 2019.

The ‘pistard’ from Castellón, who has a total of six medals in world championships, is once again Spain’s great hope, after winning bronze at the European Championships in Munich this year and later, and will seek his luck in the Ómnium and scratch.
