BARCELONA, 13 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
With yesterday’s victory in the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid by 2-5, FC Barcelona notably achieved its first title of the season, being Hansi Flick’s first at the helm of the ‘culer’ team. and the debut of a new generation of promising players emerging from La Masia such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí or Marc Casadó.
After a blank last season, Joan Laporta decided to fire a Blaugrana legend like Xavi Hernández, and opted to sign Hansi Flick, a German coach who had just won seven trophies with Bayern Munich, six of them in a magnificent year 2020. And in just seven months at Can Barça he has demonstrated the success of his signing after achieving the first title of the season against the eternal rival.
A success achieved with a new generation of footballers that excites a large part of the Blaugrana fans. Added to the total consolidation of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí is the emergence of Marc Casadó, who has become the owner of the pivot position after the serious injury of Marc Bernal, another great promise of the club. All this, added to the presence of young players like Pedri, Balde or Gavi, means that Flick has an exciting new generation of footballers with whom to win many more trophies.
Up to 13 players have achieved their first title as Blaugranas with this Super Cup. These are the signings of this season Dani Olmo, Pau Víctor (both available for the final after the precautionary measure of the CSD) and the goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, as well as the veteran Central Iñigo Martínez, signed in the previous campaign.
Furthermore, La Masia has a lot of weight in this new generation, since Pau Cubarsí, Fermín López, Marc Casadó – with a first team record – and other Barça Atlètic players who traveled to this Super Cup – Ander Astralaga, Marc Bernal, Héctor Fort, Gerard Martín, Sergi Domínguez and Toni Fernández– have managed to launch their record by being part of the expedition to Saudi Arabia.
A good debut at the level of titles for Flick and his squad, which also completely eliminates the possibility of Real Madrid being able to achieve full titles in the same season, a historic feat that only two coaches have achieved in all of history: Pep Guardiola with Barça in 2009 and Hansi Flick himself in 2020 with Bayern Munich.
A Spanish Super Cup that represents an injection of energy and morale for the ‘culer’ team for the remainder of the season, in which they can still achieve three more titles that could considerably expand the record of the ‘Flick generation’. For now, this Super Cup makes us dream of a new successful era.
