MADRID, 16 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s and women’s roller hockey teams made their debut this Monday in the World Cup, which is being held in the Italian city of Novara, with draws against France (1-1) and Chile (1-1), respectively.

The men’s match started with great intensity, but it was the French team that managed to take the lead. Spain managed to equalise the match with a goal from Marc Grau. In the second half, the score did not change. This Tuesday, the team coached by Guillem Cabestany will face Chile (3:15 p.m.) in the second match of the group stage.

Chile was the rival of the women’s team, who also drew 1-1 in the first match of the group stage. The Palasport Dal Lago pavilion witnessed the sharing of points between the Chilean team and the team coached by Sergi Macià, who took the lead thanks to a good goal from Sara Roces. However, with just over eight minutes to go, the South American team managed to equalise. Spain will face Great Britain on Tuesday (13:00).

Meanwhile, the men’s inline hockey team, coached by Ángel Ruiz, lost to the Czech Republic (3-0) after a goalless first half. Spain will play another group match on Tuesday against the host team, Italy (8.50 pm), in Roccaraso, the venue for these inline hockey World Cups.

After the ninth day of competition at the World Figure Skating Championships, the Spanish delegation has won eight golds, five silvers and 14 bronzes.
