MADRID, 27 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Núria Castán won this Saturday in the snowboard test of the legendary Verbier Pro, a pioneering test and the most important of the Freeride World Tour, ahead of the French Anna Martínez and Estelle Rizzolio.
After a descent of great technical difficulty and executing a large aerial, Castán won the inaugural event of the World Tour. “Today here was an emotional day for me after the avalanche that buried me last year. I'm happy to have had a good round,” he said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation.
“I got what I wanted, which was very technical and with a big jump. I faced my fears, but I finished without problems, and in first position. My intention is to enjoy, but being FWT champion is my goal” , he added.
The Catalan snowboarder returned to the competition after being second in the Qualifier 2023. Castán has accumulated more than 32 podiums between FWT Pro, Qualifier and Junior, and has excellent memories of the first edition of the FWT in Baqueira in 2022 where she won silver .
In the same test, the two Spaniards competed in the ski discipline, the Aranese and also RFEDI Freeride member, Abel Moga and Thibault Magnin, who finished 18th and 22nd in a test won by the German Max Hitzig.
