The Spanish motocross Championship is reduced to Saturday due to bad weather in Lugo

MADRID, 22 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The 2024 Spanish Motocross Championship will be held only this Saturday due to the decision of the organization due to the forecast of bad weather in Lugo, as reported this Thursday after the National jury meeting.

“Given the complicated weather forecasts that predict heavy rain and wind throughout the weekend and after the first extraordinary meeting of the jury of the Spanish Elite Motocross Championship, scheduled for Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25 at the Municipal Circuit Jorge Prado de Lugo, it has been agreed to cancel all activities scheduled for Sunday, advancing all competitions to Saturday the 24th,” says the official statement.

After the inspection of the facilities by the organizing committee, made up of the technicians of the Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation and the organizational managers of Motopark Lugo and Last Lap, “the decision has been made to condense all the sporting activity on the day of the Saturday the 24th, as a self-protection measure against the expected storm, making safety criteria prevail, both for the drivers and the public.”

Thus, the Spanish Motocross Championship will condense Saturday's programming with the corresponding timed training sessions and then the two rounds of each of the categories (125, Mx2 and Mx1).
