The Spanish men’s rugby sevens team qualifies for the gold phase in Hong Kong

The Spanish men’s rugby sevens team has qualified for the gold quarterfinals for the first time this season and will fight for the title at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Hong Kong (China), while the women’s team has finished the appointment in ninth position.

Two victories and one defeat have allowed the ‘Leones7s’ to advance to the gold quarterfinals in the Asian city. After beating the United States on Friday, Spain put Australia in a lot of trouble, fifth in the overall standings, but ended up losing (12-7) despite going ahead at half-time thanks to Alejandro Laforga’s test.
