The Spanish futsal team beat Hungary in preparation for the World Cup

MADRID, 23 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s futsal team continued to fine-tune its preparation for the World Cup in Uzbekistan next September on Thursday, scoring a 5-1 win over Hungary in a friendly match played in the Galician town of Ferrol.

After two friendlies against Morocco in the North African country, which ended with one win and one loss, Spain appeared in front of its fans at the A Malata Pavilion on this occasion, where it had no major problems in getting rid of the Hungarian team, an opponent that will not be at the World Cup and that suffered its eighteenth consecutive defeat against the seven-time European champions.

And after the emotional moment of the tribute to the former Galician internationals Adrián Alonso ‘Pola’, and Adrián Martínez, the team managed by Fede Vidal set out to please the crowd, although the difference in level between both teams was noticeable from the first minute. Catela, before the halfway point of the first half, was in charge of opening the scoring, while minutes later Mellado widened the gap.

With the ‘Roja’ still not finding the right rhythm and not forcing too much, there were no more goals until the break and after that, Adolfo was not long in making it 3-0. Hungary tried to react and reduced the deficit through Fekete, but Antonio and, with the Hungarians now playing ‘with five’, Adolfo again put the final touch.
