MADRID, 25 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Bribon 500 and the Swiss Sophie Racing were the winners this Sunday in the outcome in Sanxenxo of the second series of the 6 Meter Spanish Cup, a test within the Xacobeo Trophy and in which the Regatta Committee was able to complete a total of five sleeves throughout the three days of competition.
This second series of the Spanish Cup -the first was in March- allowed the boat owned by the Catalan owner Jose Cusí not only to win in this series in April but also to make up for the discreet result of the previous one and become the leader of the general classification.
In the five races played this weekend, the Bribon 500 only gave up the first place in the first race this Sunday in favor of the Astree III of the Finn Ossi Paija, a result that allowed him to climb to third place in the Xacobeo Trophy.
Second place was occupied by Alicia Freire’s Titia, who secured the podium and is positioned after these first two series of 2022 as one of the favorites for the Xacobeo 6mR Worlds, the World Class Championship, which will be held in the month of June.
Also, Shopie came back in a big way in the Open InterRías division. The Swiss and the Portuguese from Seljm were the stars of this weekend in Sanxenxo in this division, with Shopie coming back to win the Xacobeo Trophy and also lead the Spanish Cup.
The next series of the Spanish Cup will be between May 20 and 22 as a prelude to the World Cup, the Xacobeo 6mR Worlds, and in which participation is expected to exceed twenty teams. In this April series of the Spanish Cup, registration was made up of 18 teams from seven countries.
