Sevilla added three points to their locker after winning 1-0 against Cornellà this Friday at the Jesús Navas Stadium. The Seville At. entered the match with the aim of overcoming their points in the standings after suffering a 0-2 loss in the previous match against UCAM Murcia and at the moment they were on a four-match losing streak. On the visitors’ side, Cornellà was defeated 0-3 in the last game they played against FC Andorra. After the game, the Sevillian team is twelfth, while Cornellà is sixteenth after the end of the match.
In the first half neither team was successful in front of goal, so the first 45 minutes ended with the same result of 0-0.
After the break came the goal for Sevilla At., who took advantage of the occasion to open the scoring thanks to Salguero’s success in front of goal in the 69th minute, ending the duel with a 1-0 result on the scoreboard.
The coaches made all possible changes. By Sevilla At. Iván Romero, Kibamba, Nacho Quintana, Peñarroya and Lluís Aspar jumped off the bench to replace Santisteban, Kike Salas, Juanlu, Musa Drammeh and Salguero, while the changes for the visiting team were Dorca, Valín, Jairo Morillas, Andreu and Gorriti, who jumped onto the field for Gil, Mancuso, Pipo, Isaac Nana and Kike López.
The referee sanctioned six players with a yellow card. He showed two yellow cards to Capi and Nacho Quintana, from Sevilla and four to Carlos García, Chiki, Kike López and Isaac Nana from Cornellà.
With 34 points, Sevilla At. Alejandro Acejo was in twelfth place in the general table at the end of the match, while the team led by Raúl Casany was in sixteenth place with 32 points, instead of being relegated to the Second Division.
In the next match of the competition, Sevilla At. will face Llagostera and Cornellà will play against Barcelona B, both matches will be played away from home.
