The Telegraf newspaper links the shooting to the former Real Sociedad and the betting case that led to the arrest of the former Madrid defender
“Raúl Bravo ordered it,” says the Serbian newspaper 'Telegraf' in a new twist to the gruesome story of Darko Kovacevic, who is on his way to becoming the script for a movie. The Balkan striker, a companion of the former Spanish defender in Olympiacos, was the victim of a shooting outside his home in Athens. The bullet did not reach him but his knee and wrist were damaged in the fall and, in addition, he was in a state of shock. According to the Serbian newspaper, Kovacevic could have been aware of some details about the purchase and sale of matches in which Raúl Bravo was involved, the so-called 'Oikos operation'. That would have been the reason for the shooting suffered.
Kovacevic shared costumes in Olympiacos with Raúl Bravo between 2007 and 2009 and, according to the Serbian, maintained a good relationship. For this reason, the alleged revelation of 'Telegraf' of the link between the shooting in Kovacevic and the betting case that led to the arrest of 11 people, including Raúl Bravo, is surprising.
The police should have found a video of everything that happened, material that is still being evaluated by a group of experts. At the moment it seems likely that it was more a warning than an attempted murder. It is unlikely that a professional would miss the goal from such a short distance. Police have not yet found the bullet, which led to suspicion of the use of a discharged weapon, with the sole purpose of scaring Kovacevic.
