MADRID, 13 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place on July 26, will take place, for the first time, outside the Olympic stadium on the River Seine in front of nearly 600,000 spectators, the Organizing Committee announced on Monday (LAME) from Paris 2024.

The 10,500 athletes, coaches and members of the 206 national delegations will embark on the Austerlitz Bridge in the French capital and will descend in 160 boats down the Seine to the Jena Bridge.

The route of about 6 kilometers will pass the main landmarks of Paris such as the Place de la Concorde and the Esplanade des Invalides and can be followed through 80 giant screens by the nearly 600,000 spectators, most of them with free access except those who access the stands installed at strategic points.

The Eiffel Tower, symbol of Paris, will play a special role in the ceremony, although the organizers have not revealed it yet. The Trocadero Square will be the landing point for the athletes and the place where the speeches will be delivered and the flag with the Olympic rings will be raised.
