MADRID, 16 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has proposed to recover from the 2022-23 season the ‘play-off’ format in the Second RFEF, with round-trip qualifiers, and apply this criterion to the rest of the categories, First RFEF and Third RFEF, informs said body in a statement.

After the period of reflection and consultations that the RFEF itself opened this Monday with the territorial federations and with the clubs, it is proposed to return to the traditional format with two-legged qualifiers.

In the case of the Second RFEF, the system would be the same for the Permanence Tournament, played by the four worst teams that finish in thirteenth place in their groups.

It should be remembered that due to the pandemic, the RFEF implemented a final phase with a single venue in order to guarantee the completion of the competitions.
