MADRID, 24 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has accused this Friday the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, of “damaging and discrediting football”, for which he has asked for respect and institutional responsibility, and has criticized his “behavior unacceptable” that expand the “war” with the body led by Luis Rubiales and the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), according to a statement.
“In a new frontal and personal attack, the president of the League once again damages and plunges football into disrepute as well as devaluing it with unacceptable behavior for someone who holds a position of such responsibility and representativeness. According to his compulsive statements, wants to expand its institutional war not only with the Federation, but also with the COE,” the RFEF said in the note.
After attending the Europa Press Sports Breakfasts, Javier Tebas spoke to the media and assured that there is no “war between LaLiga and the RFEF”. “There has been a person who has traveled with the girlfriend to New York and has not given explanations, or who has not justified 260 million when the court has asked for it,” he added, referring to Rubiales.
This Friday, the RFEF insisted that “it cannot allow Tebas’ statements to remain unanswered as they are again false and irresponsible accusations.” “None of what he accuses the current president of the RFEF is true, as Tebas himself knows perfectly well. There is no reason for the President of the RFEF to be the subject of any type of file,” the agency said.
“NOTHING THAT TEBAS CHARGES RUBIALES IS TRUE”
Regarding whether or not the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) should enter the case, Tebas insisted that he was “flatly” opposed to electing certain members of the Court. But the RFEF stated this Friday that “perhaps that confirms that its relationship with the previous ones (some continued and others did not), whom it intended to keep in the position despite the fact that its mandate had expired, could be closer than desirable to safeguard the independence of the TAD itself”.
“The TAD has carried out implausible resolutions against this RFEF and some of them have already been annulled or refuted in the courts, such as, for example, when the electoral process of the elections to the presidency of the RFEF was charged with a stroke of the pen, an issue that was quickly restored by the Justice. These actions by certain members of the TAD will continue to have consequences in the courts of different jurisdictions, “added the RFEF statement on the subject.
In addition, and after Tebas pointed out to the media that Rubiales and Banco seem “recorder brothers”, the RFEF lamented the “insults” of the president of Laliga to the two leaders, “in an ordinary and bland manner unbecoming of someone who occupies a relevant position like yours”.
Given this, the RFEF shows “its energetic rejection of this way of proceeding and at the same time its full support for both the COE and its president”, whom it considers “a mainstay of Spanish sport, an example and a top-class leader”.
“The RFEF is confident that the actions of the courts will end up unraveling the truth and putting everyone in their place.
The accusations against the president of the RFEF will be accredited as false and it will also be seen in Justice if the way of acting of Tebas transgresses the law, “said the note.
The statement concludes with a list of actions, which according to the RFEF, are “questioned”, such as the “job proposal to an employee of the RFEF in the attempt to ‘charge Rubiales’, CVC, interference in non-professional categories of Spanish football , among others”, to “take control of football and all of Spanish sport”. “Fortunately, we are getting closer to the truth,” settled the RFEF.
